About Me

Artist, Art Teacher, Theologian

Jennifer McGill Thompson was born in Baltimore, Maryland and currently lives and works in Upper Marlboro, MD.  McGill Thompson is an ordained preacher and a visual artist.  She received her Master of Divinity from Union Presbyterian Seminary (Richmond, Virginia) and her Master of Arts in Teaching from Maryland Institute College of Art (Baltimore, MD).  

McGill Thompson enjoys sharing her love of art by teaching children and adults painting styles and techniques as well as Art History.  She has taught both teachers and students at the Walters Art Museum, the Saint Louis Art Museum, and the Baltimore Museum of Art.  She currently teaches Visual Art to students in Prince George’s County Maryland.  McGill Thompson has been recognized throughout her career as an outstanding educator having received a nomination for PGCPS Teacher of the Year, MAEA New Art Educator of the Year, and BCPS Certificate of Appreciation.  

McGill Thompson’s artwork is in private collections throughout the United States.  Her work has been exhibited in publications and art galleries throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
